1989 MAN SG242 #2034
#2034 is a member of a 14-bus order placed in 1989, which featured a German-designed VOV-style body, locally assembled at Coachwork International in Takanini.
Throughout its long career, #2034 was a staple of the North Shore and Hibiscus Coast networks. It weathered the transitions from the Yellow Bus Company to Stagecoach and North Star, serving as a high-capacity workhorse for commuters heading into the city for nearly three decades.
Following its retirement from NZBus in 2018, #2034’s journey eventually led it to Coachways, whose support and shared vision for preserving Auckland’s transport heritage made this acquisition possible.
